Hello!

Dara has been teaching yoga for 15 years and specializes in pose precision and body alignment. Dara has studied with many great teachers including John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga, Douglas Brooks, Desiree Rumbaugh, Sianna Sherman, Doug Keller, and Tom Myers, a Rolfer and author of the book Anatomy Trains. These will be strong classes for any student: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Students will all be cared for and challenged simultaneously with active stretching, weight-bearing poses, such as downward facing dog and plank, and breathwork. Dara is attentive and patient and loves to watch her students blossom!

What I do


Classes

My classes move from strong to calm. Simplicity in action is usually difficult to achieve, so there is a lot of emphasis on the alignment of digits and joints as well as the direction of energy and breath.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are like having a one-on-one tutor: the class is completely based on your needs. If you are trying to build a certain strength or you need a period of calm without a class, then a private lesson can be useful. Some prefer to take one private lesson and others choose private lessons consistently.

Workshops

Workshops are offered periodically. My favorite workshop title ever was “Yoga for Totally Inflexible Men Who Can’t Touch Their Toes” which I taught in Louisville, KY circa 2004. I also loved teaching “Free your Hips and Your Mind Will Follow”.
